About Tina

I’m the daughter of Filipino immigrants. Older sister. Plant mother. List maker. Car camper. Condiment hoarder. Self-taught baker. Lover of #yolkporn.

The name Egg Marks the Spot pays homage to the most versatile food item: eggs. Eggs are used for cookies, cakes, mayo, and more. The yolks can become custard while the whites whip into magic meringue. For most of us, eggs are the first thing we learn how to cook. For a Filipino, adding a fried egg rounds out a breakfast meal and our famous balut is the stuff of legends. EMtS also represents the Filipino sense of humor: camp and wordplay. If “X” marks the spot for pirate treasure, Egg Marks the Spot for culinary gold.
